Międzynarodowy Dzień Romów obchodzony jest 8 kwietnia .
To święto ma na celu uhonorowanie kultury i dziedzictwa romskiego, a także zwrócenie uwagi na problemy, z jakimi boryka się społeczność romska na całym świecie.
Międzynarodowy Dzień Romów został ustanowiony podczas IV Międzynarodowego Kongresu Romów, który odbył się w Jadwisinie pod Warszawą organizowany przez International Romano Union pod patronatem UNESCO.
W trakcie kongresu powiewała flaga romska oraz wybrzmiał hymn Romów -Gelem, Gelem.
Ten Dzień ma na celu zwiększenie świadomości na temat kultury romskiej i jej historii, a także walki z dyskryminacją i stereotypami.
Promowanie praw człowieka, praw Romów oraz zwracania uwagi na ich trudną sytuację społeczną, ekonomiczną i polityczną.
Obchody obejmują różne wydarzenia kulturalne, takie jak koncerty, wystawy, warsztaty oraz prezentacje twórczości artystycznej Romów.
Obchody Międzynarodowy Dzień Romów jest obchodzony w Europie i na Świecie , a organizacje pozarządowe, władze lokalne oraz same społeczności romskie organizują różnorodne wydarzenia, które często skupiają się na integracji Romów oraz promują dialog międzykulturowy .
Mimo wspólnych działań , postępów, społeczność romska w wielu krajach nadal doświadcza marginalizacji, ubóstwa, braku dostępu do edukacji i opieki zdrowotnej, a także dyskryminacji, Romofobii . Międzynarodowy Dzień Romów jest okazją do refleksji nad tymi problemami i do podejmowania działań na rzecz poprawy sytuacji Romów.
Obchody Międzynarodowego Dnia Romów są ważnym krokiem w kierunku większej akceptacji, zrozumienia i wsparcia dla tej różnorodnej i bogatej kulturowo społeczności.

International Roma Day is celebrated on April 8.
This Day aims to honor Roma culture and heritage, as well as to draw attention to the problems faced by the Roma community around the world.
International Roma Day was established during the 4th International Roma Congress, which took place in Jadwisin near Warsaw, organized by the International Romano Union under the auspices of UNESCO.
During the congress, the Roma flag flew and the Roma anthem sounded – Gelem, Gelem.
This Day aims to raise awareness of Roma culture and its history, as well as the fight against discrimination and stereotypes.
Promoting human rights, Roma rights and drawing attention to their difficult social, economic and political situation.
The celebrations include various cultural events, such as concerts, exhibitions, workshops and presentations of Roma artistic creations.
The celebration of the International Roma Day is celebrated in Europe and around the world, and NGOs, local authorities and the Roma communities themselves organize a variety of events that often focus on Roma integration and promote intercultural dialogue.
Despite joint action, progress, the Roma community in many countries continues to experience marginalization, poverty, lack of access to education and health care, as well as discrimination, Romophobia. International Roma Day is an opportunity to reflect on these problems and to take action to improve the situation of the Roma.
The celebration of International Roma Day is an important step towards greater acceptance, understanding and support for this diverse and culturally rich community.
